The deadline for concrete block producers from around the U.S. to submit payments in the first round of Concrete Masonry Checkoff (CMC) assessments is August 29. Payments reflect the collection of one cent per block sold for building applications during an inaugural quarter, April-June 2023, per the Department of Commerce-authorized CMC Board. Directors have enlisted a third-party bank, bound by strict confidentiality provisions, to process payments and assessment report forms, posted complete with mailing instructions here, indicating quarterly block sales for building end uses.

The 21-member CMC Board, comprised of concrete masonry producers representing five regions, scheduled an August 24-25 meeting in Boston to review first year progress. Key agenda items were to include a review of research, education and promotion priorities from the five CMC Regional Advisory Committees; auditing and evaluation practices; and, administrative outlook from recently appointed CEO Kim Spahn.
